Truth and Justice For Pat Docherty

Convicted on the basis of "a classic circumstantial case." DNA and fingerprints found, do not match the accused. Unexplained DNA was found on the victim. Who does it belong to if it has been proven not to match accused?

Welcome!

The information on this site is taken from court documents and newspaper articles from when the murder of Mrs Irvine happened. Also from coverage of the trial and statements made by witnesses and neighbours. Our main site remains Truth and Justice for Patrick Docherty

We in no way wish to cause any more distress to Mrs Irvine's family. They too sat through the trial and also the recent appeal. We are sure they too want to know the truth of what happened to Mrs Irvine and the truth of who really committed this crime.

Our hearts go out to the family of Mrs Irvine for their pain and suffering.  We wish them peace.

There are too many questions in this case that have not been answered.

There is still much to investigate in this case. Too many things were not investigated at the time of the murder and before the trial.

Patrick Docherty's stance is that he is appealling this conviction because he did not commit this crime.

He is not appealing the sentence because as he said, "Whoever committed this terrible crime deserves the sentence, I am an innocent man and I appeal only the conviction."

Mrs Irvine and her family also deserve truth and justice in this case. Sadly it will not bring Mrs Irvine back but at least they would have the knowledge that the right people are convicted of this crime.

All we are looking for is the truth and justice for Mrs Irvine, Patrick Docherty and Brendan Dixon.

It is time that all the evidence comes out and is looked at properly.

The truth is out there.
